Ravens Hire Marc Trestman As New Offensive Coordinator

Update:

The Baltimore Ravens have already announced the hiring of Marc Trestman.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Baltimore Ravens have hired former Bears HC Marc Trestman as their new offensive coordinator.

Trestman will replace Gary Kubiak, who recently departed for the Broncos head-coaching job, even though he announced that he planned to remain in Baltimore.

Many assumed the Ravens would ultimately hire former Browns OC Kyle Shanahan to takeover their offense, but he reached an agreement with the Falcons a few days ago.

With Shanahan out of the picture, it looked like Broncos OC Adam Gase was going to get the job. However, this could be an indication that he’s headed to Jacksonville to run their offense.

A number of NFL teams had shown interest in hiring Trestman as their offensive coordinator including the Raiders, Jaguars, and Browns.

He’s known for being more of a pass-orientated coach, so it will really be interesting to see what the Ravens elect to do this offseason in regards to roster moves.

They could use help at receiver, running back and tight end.
