Ravens Not Interested In Paying Ray Rice Like Adrian Peterson

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio joined NFL Live on Wednesday and mentioned that Ravens RB Ray Rice is still looking for “Adrian Peterson money,” which is something that Baltimore is unwilling to discuss.

This holdout could end in training camp, if then,” said Paolantonio. “… He wants Adrian Peterson money. He would like to have Chris Johnson money, which means about $30 million guaranteed. And I was told by a Ravens team official, a senior official, ‘That is simply not going to happen.'”

The problem for the Ravens is that as soon as they’re done addressing Rice‘s contract, they have to turn their attention to QB Joe Flacco, who will also be a free agent at the end of the 2012 season. Keeping Rice is paramount for Baltimore, but they can’t throw that kind of money at him without giving up something else. This is another topic that will carry on throughout the summer.
