Ravens Likely To Fire OC Marty Mornhinweg?

According to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun, it’s likely that HC John Harbaugh will once again be looking for a new offensive coordinator in 2017.

Zrebiec writes thatĀ even after the Ravens fired OC Marc Trestman back in Week 5, the same offensive problems continued to show up under Marty Mornhinweg including a lack of big plays, poor run production, and fundamental issues for QB Joe Flacco.

Baltimore has had five offensive coordinators in the past five seasons,Ā but the lack of improvement over the remainder of the season could very well costĀ Mornhinweg his job.

As for Harbaugh, Zrebiec says that the Ravens are “highly unlikely” to move on from him after the season. It’s worth mentioning that Baltimore gave Harbaugh an extension during the offseason that will keep him under contract through the 2018 season.

Mornhinweg, 54, began his coaching career with the 49ers back in 1997 and has since worked for the Lions, Eagles and Jets before taking over the Ravens’ offensive during the 2016 season.

This year, the Ravens are No. 18 total yards, No. 26 in rushing yards, No. 11 passing yards and No. 9 points scored.

We’ll have more regarding potential changes involving the Ravens’ coaching staff as the news is available.
