Ravens Made Early Attempt To Re-Sign RT Ricky Wagner But Initial Offer Was Rebuffed

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports the Ravens made an early attempt to sign free agent RT Ricky Wagner to a contract extension, but their initial offer was “rebuffed.

Even so, La Canfora mentions that the Ravens want to keep both Wagner and free agent DT Brandon Williams.

To get either player locked up in advance of free agency is going to be very expensive for the Ravens, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Wagner’s camp shot down the team’s initial offer.

Wagner, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2013. He has played out his four-year, $2,304,560 rookie contract and is now in position to be one of the best available offensive tackles in this year’s free agent market.

In 2016, Wagner appeared in 15 games for the Ravens and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 18 offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players.

We have both players featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
