Ravens Officially Pick Up LB C.J. Mosley’s Fifth-Year Option

The Baltimore Ravens officially picked up LB C.J. Mosley‘s fifth-year option, according to Field Yates.

The fifth-year option is guaranteed only for injury and won’t prevent them from working on a long-term extension over the next year.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Mosley is one of the games best young linebackers and getting a fifth year of team control is an easy decision for the Ravens.

Mosley, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2014. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $8.878 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,618,365 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Mosley appeared in 14 games for the Ravens and recorded 92 tackles, no sacks, four interceptions, a forced fumble and eight pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 11 linebacker out of 87 qualifying players.
