Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs Out For Season With Torn Achilles

The Baltimore Ravens announced Sunday that veteran OLBĀ Terrell Suggs is out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon.

This is horrible news for the Ranves and Suggs, who had previously sustained a torn Achilles just a few years ago.

Baltimore has had to continually find pass-rush help in recent years, as they’ve lost a number of edge-rushers in free agency.

The Ravens will now turn to Elvis Dumervil, Courtney Upshaw, and Za’Darius SmithĀ as their top-three pass rushers for the remainder of the season.

Suggs, 32, is in the secondĀ year of his five-year, $28.5 million contractĀ that includedĀ $16 million guaranteed. He is set to make a base salary ofĀ $1 million (2015), $4.5 million (2016), Ā $6.5 million (2017-2018).

In 2014, Suggs appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 61 tackles, 12 sacks, a fumble recovery, a pass defense and a safety for the Ravens.
