Ravens Place 6 Players On PUP List Including Terrell Suggs, Elvis Dumervil & Steve Smith

The Baltimore Ravens placed six players on the physically unable to perform list Saturday including: OLB Terrell Suggs (Achilles), OLB Elvis Dumervil (foot) WR Steve Smith Sr. (Achilles) WR Breshad Perriman (knee), RB Trent Richardson (leg) and CB Jumal Rolle.

These players can return to practice once activated. However, if they remain on PUP list to start the regular season, they would miss at least the first six weeks.

Suggs, 33, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2003. He’s currently in the third year of his five-year, $28.5 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $4.5 million for the 2016 season.

In 2014, Suggs appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 61 tackles, 12 sacks, a fumble recovery, a pass defense and a safety. However, he tore his Achilles at the start of the season and was subsequently placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Smith, 36, has two years remaining on his three-year, $10.5 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $3 million this year and next.

Smith suffered a torn Achilles earlier in the season that led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve.

In 2015, Smith has appeared in seven games and caught 46 passes for 670 yards receiving and three touchdowns for the Ravens.

Dumervil, 32, is in the fourth year of his five-year, $26 million contract that included $8.5 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $4 million for the 2016 season and another $5 million in 2017.

Last year, Dumervil appeared appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 48 tackles, six sacks, a forced fumble, two recoveries and a pass defense.
