Ravens Plan To Make Sure ILB C.J. Mosley Remains In Baltimore

New Ravens GM Eric DeCosta told reporters on Wednesday that they plan to do whatever they need to ensure ILB C.J. Mosley is back in Baltimore next year.

We’re going to do what I can to make sure C.J. is back on our team,” DeCosta said, per Jeff Zrebiec.

Last week, Ravens HC John Harbaugh told reporters that there’s mutual interest between the team and Mosley regarding an extension.

“C.J, wants to be back and we want him back,” Harbaugh said, per Jeff Zrebiec. “I’m not even going to anticipate the possibility that might not happen.”

Sources have told Zrebiec that the Ravens and the agent for Mosley have had recent contract talks and there’s hope that they’ll be able to get a long-term extension in place before the start of free agency.

Zrebiec notes that it would cost the Ravens over $15 million to franchise Mosley.

Mosley, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $8,788,002 rookie contract before the Ravens picked up his fifth-year option last year.

Mosley made a base salary of $8,718,000 for the 2018 season and is now in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2018, Mosley appeared in 15 games for the Ravens and recorded 105 tackles, a half sack, an interception and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 22 receiver out of 93 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
