Ravens QB Joe Flacco Clears Concussion Protocol, Will Return In Week 9

Ravens QB Joe Flacco told reporters on Wednesday that he’s officially cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol and will suit for the team’s Week 9 game.

Flacco took a scary hit from Dolphins LB Kiko Alonso last week that left him concussed and forced him to leave the game.

According to Flacco, this is the first concussion of his career.

This summer, Flacco was sidelined with a back injury, but he hasn’t had any reoccurring issues with it since then.

Flacco, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2008. He’s currently in the second year of a six-year, $125 million contract that contained $44 million guaranteed. He is set to make a base salary of $6 million this season to go along with another $12 million (2018), $18.5 million (2019), $20.25 (2020) million, $24.25 million (2021).

In 2017, Flacco has appeared in eight games and thrown for 1,290 yards while completing 64 percent of his passes to go along with six touchdowns and eight interceptions.
