ESPN’s Adam Schefter refutes the previous reports that the Baltimore Ravens and RB Ray Rice have made progress towards a long-term agreement.
Schefter does mention that the two sides continue to talk, but still no progress at this point in time.

Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports that “sources familiar with the talks” regarding a long-term extension for RB Ray Rice have informed him that the two sides have made progress in recent weeks.
Zrebiec source does admit that “no deal is imminent and there remains plenty of work to do.”
This is at least an encouraging sign that something could be finalized before the July 16 deadline to sign players that have been designated with the franchise tag.
Yesterday, Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune reported that Rice is looking for a huge annual salary of $10 million, which would put him right behind Adrian Peterson.
LeSean McCoy‘s recent contract extension five-year, $45 million extension that includes close to $21 million in guarantees, figures to be a more reasonable price.
