Ravens Re-Sign ERFA WR Chris Matthews

The Baltimore Ravens officially re-signed exclusive rights free agent WR Chris Matthews on Wednesday.

Matthews, 27, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky back in 2011. He lasted just a few months in Cleveland before he was waived at the start of the season.

It took a few years for him to secure another opportunity, but he signed a future/reserve contract with the Seahawks in February of 2014 and went on to help in the Super Bowl.

After he was waived the following year, Matthews signed on to the Ravens’ practice squad and returned to the team on an exclusive rights contract. Unfortunately, Matthews was placed on injured reserve at the start of last year and missed the entire season.

In 2015, Matthews appeared in 13 games and caught 13 passes for 151 yards receiving and one touchdown.
