Ravens Reach Agreement With Second-Round Pick DT Timmy Jernigan

Sunny Shah, the agent for Ravens second-round pick DT Timmy Jernigan, announced via his Twitter account that his client has reached an agreement with the team on a four-year contract.

  • According to Aaron Wilson, Jernigan’s contract is a four-year deal worth $4.382 million and includes a $1.507 million guaranteed.

Baltimore has been busy in recent days signing their 2014 draft class as only three picks are without contracts as of now.

Jernigan was in the discussion to possibly be a first-round draft pick, so I’m sure the Ravens are quite happy to come away with him in the second round.

Over the course of three season at Florida State, Jernigan totaled 138 tackles, 25 for a loss, 8.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery.

It appears as though he is a much better run-defender than an interior pass-rusher, which should work fine for Baltimore as he can compete throughout OTAs and training camp with second-year DT Brandon Williams.
