Ravens Reach An Agreement With DE Elvis Dumervil

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the Ravens have reached an agreement with free agent DE/OLB Elvis Dumervil.

Dumervil, 29, reportedly receives a five year deal that could worth as much as $35 million.

Recent reports indicated that the Broncos and Ravens were the main suitors for Dumervil, but it seemed as though a return to Denver was the most likely scenario. The Broncos were dealing with the fact that they incurred nearly $5 million in dead money following the fax fiasco, which left them in a tough financial position.

Baltimore had to find some help on the defensive side of the ball and this will move should really help. Dumervil is a pretty solid pass rusher who will now be asked to fill the void left by Paul Kruger signing with the Browns. A switch to a 3-4 defense could actually be a good thing for Dumervil given that he put up the best numbers of his career while playing in that system a few years ago.

We have him listed as the No. 1 player in our recently updated Top 50 Free Agents list.
