Ravens Ready To Start Negotiating Long-Term Deal With QB Joe Flacco

NFL Network’s Jason LaCanfora reports the Baltimore Ravens intend to start negotiating a long-term contract extension with QB Joe Flacco at next week’s Combine.

There have already been reports suggesting that Flacco would be one of the team’s offseason priorities and Raven head coach John Harbaurgh mentioned that Flacco had earned a new contract. Harbaugh’s comments came after Flacco’s great performance in the AFC Championship game against the Patriots.

It’s hard to say to what Flacco’s  contract demands will be but he could use Tony Romo‘s 6 year, $67.4 million contract that includes $30 million in guarantees as a comparable deal. The fact that Ryan Fitzpatrick was able to secure a 6 year deal worth $59 million with $24 million guaranteed from the Bills makes Romo’s deal seem like an even better comparison.
