Report: Jacoby Jones Will Visit With The Giants

Update:

Josina Anderson reports that the Ravens free agent WR Jacoby Jones will visit with the New York Giants.

  • Ralph Vacchiano reports that the Giants also have interest in Packers WR James Jones, but they have Jacoby Jones higher on their list.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Ravens have a contract offer on the table for free agent WR Jacoby Jones.

The Ravens were believed to have interest in retaining Jones, so it’s not a huge surprise that they could have an offer out to him.

I wouldn’t expect the offer to be worth that much based on the fact that there will be a lot of options at the receiver position in the free agency market and upcoming draft.

Jones made a total of $4 million in 2013, so it seems likely that he will be asked to accept a much more reasonable salary than that.

Jones, 29, has had a huge impact for the Ravens special teams since coming over from the Texans. However, as a receiver, Jones still hasn’t developed into a solid No. 2 option.

In 2013, Jones caught 37 passes for 455 yards and two touchdowns over the course of 12 games.
