Ravens Sign 6 Players To Futures Deals Including QB Dustin Vaughan & WR Kenny Bell

The Baltimore Ravens announced Monday that they’ve signed six players to future/reserve contracts including:

  1. QB Dustin Vaughan
  2. RB Stephen Houston
  3. WR Kenny Bell
  4. OL Jarell Broxton
  5. OL Jarrod Pughsley
  6. OL Matt Skura

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

Vaughan, 25, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M in May of 2014. He wound up making the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was unfortunately among Dallas’ final roster cuts a few weeks into the 2015 regular season.

After a brief stint with the Steelers, Vaughn signed a future/reserve contract with the Steelers but was waived with an injury settlement coming out of the preseason. The Ravens later signed him to their practice squad in December.

During his college career, Vaughan completed 593 of 949 passing (62.5) for 8,124 yards to go along with 70 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

Bell, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2015. He wound up signing a four-year, $2,484,836 contract with the Bucs and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

The Buccaneers elected to cut Bell loose coming out of the preseason with an injury designation. He later reverted to their injured reserve list before he was waived with an injury settlement soon after.

The Ravens signed him to their practice squad in October.

Bell has yet to appear in an NFL game.
