Ravens Sign C Jeremy Zuttah, Waived/Injured WR Kenny Bell

The Baltimore Ravens announced Friday that they’ve signed veteran C Jeremy Zuttah and waived WR Kenny Bell with an injury designation.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Zuttah receives a two-year contract worth nearly $4 million and can max out as $6 million.

Should Bell pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list on Saturday.

Zuttah visited with the Colts in recent weeks, but indications have been that the Ravens were the favorites to sign him to a contract and it looks like they managed to convince him to return to Baltimore in the end.

Zuttah, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2008. He spent six seasons in Tampa Bay before he was traded to the Ravens in 2014 for a fifth-round pick that eventually became WR Kenny Bell.

Zuttah is in the third year of his five-year, $18 million contract that included $6.5 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $3.5 million for the 2017 season.

The Ravens traded Zuttah and their 2017 sixth-round pick to the 49ers in return for San Francisco’s sixth-round pick this past March. However, San Francisco released Zuttah a few days ago.

In 2016, Zuttah appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 13 center out of 38 qualifying players.
