Ravens Sign CB Trevin Wade, Waive/Injured CB Al-Hajj Shabazz

The Baltimore Ravens announced Monday that they’ve signed CB Trevin Wade to a contract and placed CB Al-Hajj Shabazz on waivers with an injury designation.

Should Shabazz pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list on Tuesday

Wade, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Browns back in 2012. He spent just over a year in Cleveland before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season and later signed by the Saints.

After a brief stint with the Lions, the Giants signed Wade to a future’s deal in January of 2015 and he spent the past two years in New York.

In 2016, Wade appeared in all 16 games for the Giants and recorded 26 tackles, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown, no interceptions and three pass defenses.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.

Shabazz, 24, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of West Chester in July of last year but was waived as the team trimmed their roster down to 75 players.

The Steelers signed him to a future/reserve contract in February of last year but was waived as the team got down to the 53-man limit. He was on and off of the Steelers’ active roster for much of the season, but had a brief stint with the Texans before returning to Pittsburgh last December.

Shabazz was waived shortly after this year’s draft and he later caught on with the Ravens in June.

In 2016, Shabazz appeared in eight games and recorded just one tackle.
