Ravens Sign LB Daryl Smith To A One-Year Contract

Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens have signed former Jaguars LB Daryl Smith to a one-year contract.

Smith, 31 was a regular starter for the Jaguars during his time with the team starting 122 of 133 games he has participated in. However, last season he dealt with a groin injury which kept him out of all but two games last season.

The signing is obviously still a part of now “retired” LB Rolando McClain‘s fall out as the Ravens are still looking to fill the void left by LB Ray Lewis and Dannell Ellerbe.  Smith has the possibility of being a serviceable player but age and injury concerns should tapper expectations.
