Ravens Sign Veteran CB Brandon Carr To Two-Year, $12M Deal With Options

The Baltimore Ravens announced Thursday that they’ve signed veteran CB Brandon Carr to a four-year contract.

  • Adam Schefter reports that Carr receives a one-year contract with a series of options. In total, the agreement can be worth $24 million over four years. However, the contract will likely end up being a two-year $12 million contract.

The Jets were reportedly interested in Carr, but it looks like he’ll be headed to Baltimore.

The Ravens were reportedly interested in CB Morris Claiborne. However, it appears as though the addition of Carr could change their level of interest in Claiborne.

Carr, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2008. After four years in Kansas City, Carr signed a five-year, $50.1 million contract that included $25.5 million guaranteed with the Cowboys in 2012.

Carr was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Carr appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 61 tackles, one interception and nine pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 52 cornerback out of 114 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
