Ravens Have Some Concern About OT Jake Long’s Knee, Will Meet With Dr. James Andrews

Update:

Jeff Zrebiec reports that the Ravens have “some concern” about OT Jake Long‘s knee, and he’s scheduled to meet with Dr. James Andrews, who operated on his knee twice.

As of now, Long’s physical is ongoing.

While there are some concerns with Long’s knee, Zrebiec adds that the Ravens still optimistic that they’ll eventually sign Long, but it’s by no means a sure thing.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Ravens and veteran OT Jake Long have reached agreement on a one-year deal. Schefter adds that Long is flying to Baltimore tonight to sign.

Long previouly mentioned that he’s “100 percent confident” he will be playing in 2016.

[I’ve been] working out everyday and feeling strong,” Long said, via Sirius XM NFL Radio. “This is the healthiest I’ve felt in a very long time. Knee feels great.”

The Bears brought Long in for a tryout a few weeks ago, but they elected to go in a different direction in terms of offensive line help.

Long, 31, is a former No. 1 overall pick by the Dolphins back in 2008. He spent five years in Miami before signing on with the Rams as an unrestricted free agent during the 2013 offseason.

Long has unfortunately dealt with multiple ACL tears over the past few years, which led to him signing a one-year deal with the Falcons last year as a reserve lineman.

In 2015, Long was limited to appearing in just four games for the Falcons, playing nine total snaps.

We had him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
