Ravens Sign WR Trent Steelman, Waive QB Jerry Lovelocke

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens have signed WR Trent Steelman to a contract and placed rookie QB Jerry Lovelocke on waivers.

Steelman was one of a few players who tried out for the Ravens either in the week. We heard that Steelman was on the team’s short list of candidates to sign, so this doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

Steelman is actually a converted quarterback who played four years at Army. During this time, he threw for 2,273 yards while completing 50.8 percent of his passes to go along with 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also added 3,320 yards rushing on 772 carries (4.3 YPC) and 45 touchdowns.
