Ravens Signed RB Danny Woodhead To Three-Year, $8.8M Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Ravens are signing RB Danny Woodhead to a contract.

  • According to Rapoport, Woodhead receives a three-year, $8.8 million with $4.25 million guaranteed.

The Chargers were reportedly interested in retaining Woodhead and he also had interest from a few teams including the Broncos. However, it appears as though the Ravens were able to sell him on an opportunity in Baltimore.

Woodhead, 32, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Chadron State back in 2008. He spent over two years in New York before signing on with the Patriots in 2010.

Woodhead finished our his three-year, $7.25 million contract, but his 2016 season, unfortunately, came to an end with him being placed on season-ending injured reserve back in September of last year with a torn ACL.

In 2016, Woodhead appeared in two games and rushed for 116 yards on 19 carries (6.1 YPC) to go along with six receptions for 35 yards receiving and a touchdown.

We had him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
