Ravens Tried Out Former Browns First-Round DL Phil Taylor

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Baltimore Ravens recently tried out former Browns first-round pick DL Phil Taylor.

This is the first reported interest in Taylor since he worked out for the Steelers a few months ago.

Taylor, 27, was taken with the No. 21 overall pick by the Browns back in 2011, but was one of the more notable roster cuts at start of the season.

Cleveland wound up picked up Taylor’s fifth-year option and he was on roster first day of league year, which fully guaranteed his base salary of $5.477 million.

Taylor reportedly has been dealing with knee issues that likely led to the Browns moving on, and explains why he’s still available.

In 2014, Taylor appeared in just five games and recorded 10 tackles and a pass defense for the Browns.
