Jets, Bears, 49ers & Ravens All Interested In QB Ryan Mallett

Update:

According to Dianna Russini, no decision has been made by QB Ryan Mallett, despite the report that he’s re-signing with the Ravens. Instead, Russini says that the Jets, Bears, 49ers, and Ravens have all reached out to him.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Ravens are, in fact, re-signing backup QB Ryan Mallett.

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Ravens also in talks to retain backup QB Ryan Mallett.

This doesn’t come as a big surprise, considering that Ravens HC John Harbaugh previously mentioned that they would like to re-sign Mallett.

We want Ryan back and there are other veteran guys out there,” Harbaugh said, per Jamison Hensley.

Mallett, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2011. He was traded to the Texans in 2014 in return for a conditional sixth-round pick.

Mallett lasted just over a year in Houston before he was released and later signed by the Ravens during the 2015 season.

In 2016, Mallett appeared in four games for the Ravens and threw for 26 yards and one interception while completing three of six pass attempts.
