This is the second tight end they’ve cut in the past two days after Dennis Pitta elected to continue his career and agreed to a pay cut with the Ravens.
Spears, 24, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of New Hampshire back in May of last year. He lasted just over a month with the Saints before catching on with the Packers and Steelers during the preseason.
After a brief stint on the Seahawks’ practice squad, he signed on with the Ravens and later returned on a future/reserve deal.
Spears has yet to appear in an NFL game.
