Ravens Worked Out QB Ryan Mallett

Update:

Ed Werder reports that despite having an “impressive workout” for the Ravens on Wednesday, he didn’t receive an offer from the team.

According to Werder, the Ravens still have “things to resolve,” but they remain interested in a potential deal with Mallett.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Ravens are working out former Texans QB Ryan Mallett on Wednesday.

This is the first reported interest in Mallett since the Texans cut him loose a few months ago.

Baltimore lost Joe Flacco for the season and have been starting Matt Schaub in his place. They also claimed Jimmy Clausen off of waivers a few weeks ago, but it appears as though they would prefer to kick the tires on some available options such as Mallett.

Mallett, 27, signed a two-year, $7 million contract with the Texans back in March that included $1.75 million guaranteed. However, he released just days after he missed the team’s charter to Miami.

This season, Mallett has appeared in six games and thrown for 770 yards while completing 53.1 percent of his passes to go along with three touchdowns and four interceptions.
