Ravens WR Breshad Perriman Doesn’t Have Torn ACL, Expected To Be OK For 2016 Season

Pro Football Talk is reporting that Ravens WR Breshad Perriman does not have a torn ACL, despite previous reports that said he had sustained a partially torn ligament.

  • According to PFT, Perriman received a stem-cell injection on Tuesday and is expected to be okay for the 2016 season.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that the initial exam indicated that Perriman’s knee was stable and today’s scope proved it.

Perriman scheduled an examination Dr. James Andrews to determine if he’ll need reconstruction surgery for Tuesday and it appears as though everything went well.

Reports from Monday mentioned that there was “absolutely” a chance that Perriman could return for 2016 season, depending on how the examination went.

Even with the good news, you can expect the Ravens to be cautious with Perriman this summer, especially considering that he missed the 2015 season after he sustained a partially torn PCL in his right knee.

Perriman, 22, was taken with the No. 26 overall pick last year and is currently in the second year of his four-year, $8.705 million rookie contract that includes $7.09 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $830,697 for the 2016 season.

We’ll have more regarding Perriman and his status as the news is available.
