RB Terrance West In Line For A Major Role Next Season?

Glenn Moore of the Cleveland Plain Dealer writes that Browns RB Terrance West is expected to play a major role for the Browns offensively”

Moore adds that RB Ben Tate has been participating in individual workouts throughout the first couple of days of minicamp, while West has received first team reps.

Tate, 25, broke multiple ribs last season and has a well-documented injury history, so it’s not as though to imagine that HC Mike Pettine would want to be more careful with his primary ball carrier.

The Browns signed Tate to a two-year, $6.2 million contract that included just $2.5 million guaranteed, so he’ll most likely receive a chance to prove he can be reliable back.

Last year, he totaled 771 rushing yards on 181 carries (4.3 YPC) and four touchdowns over the course of 14 games. Pro Football Focus rated Tate as the No.44 running back last season.
