Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston believes the New England Patriots’ “preference” would be to re-signing free agent CB Aqib Talib.
The Patriots are reportedly interest in a number of free agent cornerbacks like Sean Smith, Chris Gamble and Derek Cox.
Reiss adds that the Patriots could figure out a way to sign both Talib and Smith, but admits that such a move is out of character for Bill Belichick.
Talib, 26, should find plenty of interest on the open market, despite some obvious concerns relating to off-the-field issues.
