Redskins Believe RB Tim Hightower Has Torn ACL

The Washington Redskins “strongly believe” that RB Tim Hightower suffered a torn left ACL during Week 7’s game against the Carolina Panthers, per ESPN 980’s Chris Russell.

He scheduled to under an MRI today which should shed some light on how serious the injury really is. Ryan Torain figures to be in line to take over the teams starting running back position  but rookie Roy Helu should see some game action, most likely in third-down situations. Unfortunately for Hightower,  he’s a free agent at the end of the year which his injury rather untimely as it’s likely to impact the offers that he’ll receive on the open market.
