Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland Suspended One Game

Albert Breer reports that the NFL has suspended Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland one game for a citation he received for possession of marijuana back in August of last year.

The incident occurred on the night before the Redskins left training camp. Marijuana possession is considered a misdemeanor.

Breeland, 23, has three years remaining on his four-year, $2.706 million rookie contract that included a $486,000 signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary of $510,000 for the 2015 season.

In 2014, Breeland appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and recorded 69 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and 13 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 99 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.
