Ian Rapoport has confirmed the four-week timetable for Norman.

Losing Norman for any period of time will be a big setback for the Redskins’ defense, but they do have a bye coming up, so that will at least mitigate his loss to some extent.

Norman, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2012. He spent four years in Carolina and actually received the Panthers’ franchise tag last year, but the team surprisingly pulled the tender and he eventually signed a five-year, $75 million contract that includes $36.5 million fully guaranteed with the Redskins.

Norman stands to make base salaries of $16.5 million and $13.5 million over the next two years of the contract.

In 2017, Norman has appeared in four games and recorded 14 tackles, two forced fumble, no interceptions and four pass defenses for the Redskins. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 39 cornerback out of 109 qualifying players.
