The Washington Redskins announced the release of 12 players on Monday, as they trimmed their roster down to 75 players ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.
- Washington also placed OLB Junior Galette on season-ending injured reserve.
The list of players either released or waived includes:
- TE Ernst Brun Jr
- LB Dyshawn Davis
- CB Tajh Hasson
- TE Chase Dixon
- LB Alonzo Highsmith
- CB DreQuan Hoskey
- WR Tony Jones (injured)
- K Ty Long
- TE Devin Mahina
- G Bryce Quigley
- OT Willie Smith
- CB Trey Wolfe
Galette, 27, wound up signing a one-year, $745,000 contract with the Redskins a few weeks after he was somewhat surprisingly released by the Saints.
In 2014, Galette appeared in all 16 games for the Saints and recorded 45 tackles, 10 sacks, three forced fumbles, two safeties and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 4 defensive end in a 4-3 defense out of 59 qualifying players.
