Redskins & DC Jim Haslett “Mutually” Agree To Part Ways

The Washington Redskins announced Wednesday that they have “mutually” agreed to part ways with defensive coordinator Jim Haslett.

Redskins HC Jay Gruden said earlier in the week that he planned to take some time to assess their coaching staff and potential changes, but it appears as though moving on from Haslett was an easier decision than he anticipated.

Haslett has come under a great deal of criticism in recent years for the underwhelming defensive play. Many were surprised that he was able to survive for another year after Washington hired Gruden last year.

Since taking the job in 2010, Haslett’s defenses have ranked 21st in points allowed or worse in each season.

We’ll have updates regarding who the Redskins could hire as a replacement as the news is available.
