Redskins Meeting With DT Terrance Knighton, Could Re-Sign Him If He’s In Shape

Update:

John Keim of ESPN is reporting that if the Redskins like the kind of shape free agent DT Terrance Knighton is in during his visit on Wednesday, they will likely re-sign him to a contract.

According to Keim, Knighton has lost 30 pounds this offseason and even looked slimmer in a picture posted by teammate Chris Baker on Instagram Monday.

Knighton wound up leaving his visit with the Patriots without an agreement.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Redskins will meet with free agent DT Terrance Knighton on Wednesday.

  • Knighton is meeting with the Patriots today, but Washington is reportedly interested in bringing him back for another season.

Knighton, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2009. After four years in Jacksonville, Knighton signed on with the Broncos in 2013.

He wound up signing a one-year, $4 million contract with the Redskins after finding a limited amount of interest last year and is once again testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Knighton appeared in 15 games for the Redskins and totaled 29 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 defensive tackle out of 70 qualifying players.
