Redskins Hosting RB Adrian Peterson For Visit

Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo are reporting that the Redskins are bringing free agent RB Adrian Peterson for a visit on Monday.

Peterson is reportedly in very good shape and could be an intriguing option for Washington, who is dealing with a number of injuries at running back.

It’s worth mentioning that the Redskins met with veteran RBs Jamaal Charles and Orleans Darkwa on Sunday.

This is the first reported interest in Peterson since free agency opened back in March.

Peterson, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Vikings back in 2007. After 10 seasons in Minnesota, Peterson signed a two-year, $7 million contract with the Saints and stands to make base salaries of $1 million and $1.05 million over the next two years.

The Saints elected to trade Peterson to the Cardinals for a 2018 sixth-round pick last year. However, Arizona cut him loose this past March in a move that freed up $2,881,250 of available cap space.

In 2017, Peterson appeared in 10 games for the Saints and Cardinals and rushed for 529 yards on 156 carries (3.4 YPC) to go along with 11 receptions for 70 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
