Josina Anderson reports that the Redskins are scheduled to host free agent RBÂ Jamaal Charles for a visit on Sunday.
The Redskins are dealing with a number of injuries at running back, which is why they’re trying out some free agent running backs today including Orleans Darkwa.
Charles previously worked out for the Saints, but left New Orleans without a deal.
Charles, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2008. After nine years in Kansas City, the Chiefs released him last year and he later signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Broncos.
Charles has been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
In 2017, Charles has appeared in 14 games for the Broncos and rushed for 296 yards on 69 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 23 receptions for 129 yards receiving and one touchdown.
