Adam Schefter mentioned a few weeks back that anyone of the Eagles, Cowboys and Redskins could be in play for free agent CB Nnamdi Asomugha. Dan Graziano of ESPN discussed the idea of the Washington Redskins signing Asomugha in his recent mailbag.
“I believe Asomugha is an elite game-changing player. I believe he will dramatically alter whichever defense he joins for the better. I believe that, if the Redskins got him and no one else, their defense would improve as a result. They could use him the way the Jets use Darrelle Revis, to effectively take one receiver out of the game, and that would help their pass rush by eliminating a downfield option and forcing the quarterback to wait longer to throw,” writes Grazino.
Washington has been big spenders in the past so there’s no way you could rule them out at this point in time. Grazino point about Asomugha’s impact on a teams defense is a worthy consideration that a whole list of teams are contemplating.
