Redskins HC Jay Gruden told reporters that they’re likely to work out some free agent kickers this week with K Dustin Hopkins dealing with a hip issue.
Hopkins, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Bills back in 2013. He lasted just over a year in Buffalo before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later signed to the Saints’ practice squad.
The Redskins would sign him to a contract in 2015 and he’s been with the team ever since.
In 2017, Hopkins has appeared in five games and converted 9 of 11 field goal attempts (81.8 percent) to go along with 12 of 13 extra point tries (92.3 percent).
We’ll have more regarding which kickers are working out for the Redskins as the news is available.
