Redskins Lose Brian Orakpo & Adam Carriker For The Season

The Washington Redskins defense was dealt a huge blow with the loss of OLB Brian Orakpo and DE Adam Carriker for the season.

John Keim reports that Carriker suffered a torn quad during Sunday’s loss to the St Louis Rams. The Redskins actually gave the 28-year-old a four-year contract worth $20 million back in March.

As for Orakpo, Keim reports that he torn the same left pectoral muscle that suffered last season.

Losing two of their best pass-rushers so early on is no doubt a huge loss for this defensive unit. Washington will have to look to players Rob Jackson and Chris Wilson to step in and produce in the absence of Orakpo. Jarvis Jenkins and Stephen Bowen will have to do the same for Carriker.
