Redskins OLB Junior Galette Suspended 2 Games

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the NFL is suspending Redskins OLB Junior Galette two games for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy for his role in a January incident.

Galette was accused of domestic violence back in January, but that case was later dropped.

Galette signed a one-year contract with the Redskins after being released by the Saints in the offseason, but suffered a season-ending Achilles tear during a preseason practice.

Both Redskins HC Jay Gruden and Galette recently said they’re interested in him being back in Washington next year.

“We obviously would love to get him back if we can,” Gruden said, via Evan Woodbery of the Times-Picayune .

Galette, 27, received a one-year, $745,000 contract from the Redskins and is in line to be a free agent next March.

In 2014, Galette appeared in all 16 games for the Saints and recorded 45 tackles, 10 sacks, three forced fumbles, two safeties and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 4 defensive end in a 4-3 defense out of 59 qualifying players.
