Redskins Place RB Roy Helu On IR

The Washington Redskins officially announced the signing of RB Ryan Grant this afternoon and in doing, they also announced that Roy Helu will be placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Helu has been dealing with an Achilles’ tendon dating back to training camp, as well as a turf toe. He comes with an injury history, but it is surprising to see him done for the year.

The Redskins openly favored Alfred Morris and Evan Royster leading up to the season, so it seems likely that Morris will be the team’s starter for the foreseeable future with Grant and Royster bein worked in as head coach Mike Shanahan sees fit.
