Redskins Place S LaRon Landry On I.R.

Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that the Washington Redskins have placed S LaRon Landry on season-ending injured reserve today.

Landry has been dealing with a strained left Achilles’ tendon as well as a strained groin this season. The Redskins will replace him with rookie DeJuan Gomes for the remainder of the season.

This is obviously bad news for both Landry and the Redskins as he’s set to be a free agent at the end of the season. Last season Landry was also placed on I.R. because of similar injuries. This will most likely have an impact on the deals that teams are offering during free agency. Washington could use their franchise tag on him but that’s purely speculative at this point.
