Redskins Prepared To Target A High-Profile WR?

Mike Maske of the Washington Post reports that people close to the Redskins believe that they’re “making plans to add a high-profile wide receiver in an NFL free agent market.”

Redskins OC Kyle Shanahan has said publicly that they’re in need of a big-play receiver. Last year, they were reportedly interested in Chargers WR Vincent Jackson but ultimately backed away from a deal.

Maske notes that the team didn’t have a single receiver in the top 25 in receiving yards last season which helps to illustrate their current issues at the position.

The article tosses out names like the before mentioned Jackson, Marques Colston and Pierre Garcon as well as some others that could be kept from the market in the coming after teams start applying their franchise tags.
