Redskins Promoting LB Pete Robertson To Active Roster

Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post reports that the Redskins are promoting LB Pete Robertson to their active roster on Tuesday.

Washington has been hit hard by injuries this year, particularly at the linebacker position, so it makes plenty of sense for them to bolster their depth here before Week 12’s game.

Robertson, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Texas Tech back in May of last year. He was waived coming out of the preseason and sat out the entire 2016 season.

The Redskins signed him to a future/reserve contract this past January and he was once again waived at the start of the regular season. Washington signed him to their practice squad soon after.

During his college career, Robertson recorded 227 tackles, 22 sacks, two interceptions, five forced fumbles, four recoveries and eight pass defenses over the course of five seasons.
