Redskins QB Robert Griffin III Has Been “Up And Down” During Training Camp

Chris Russell of ESPN 980 Washington writes that No. 2 overall pick QB Robert Griffin III has been “up and down” thus far during the team’s training camp.

So far, Griffin’s displayed a “tremendous bursts of speed” and has completed some “rocket throws” to Pierre Garcon, but there’s also been some “ugliness.” Griffin has reportedly been taking too many sacks, which could be both the fault of him and the Redskins offensive line, which Russell mentions is “concern of [his].”

Griffin has yet to throw a pick during training camp so that’s certainly something to hang his hat on.  It’s still early in the training camp season, but there’s no question he’ll be one of the most scrutinized rookies during the preseason.
