Redskins RB Silas Redd Suspended 4 Games

The NFL announced Wednesday that Redskins RB Silas Redd has been suspended four games without pay for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Redd is currently on season-ending injured reserve after suffering an ACL injury back in August.

Redd, 23, signed on with Washington as an undrafted free agent out of USC back in May of last year. He wound up making the team coming out of the preseason and appeared in all 16 games, rushing for 75 yards on 16 carries (4.7 YPC) to go along with eight receptions for 107 yards receiving and one total touchdown.

Redd still has another two years remaining on his three-year, $1.53 million rookie contract, which includes a base salary of $510,000 for the 2015 season.
