Redskins Re-Sign DL Chris Baker

The Washington Redskins announced that they have re-signed defensive lineman Chris Baker on Thursday.

  • Chris Russell reports that Baker will receive a three-year deal worth $12 million and $4 million guaranteed.

Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett singled Baker out as an offseason priority for the team, so it’s not all that surprising that they were able to get a deal worked out before the free agency opened.

Baker, 26, was a restricted free agent last year and ultimately signed a one-year, $1.323 million contract with Washington. In 2013, he appeared in 15 games and had 28 tackles including one sack.

He has played some defensive end as well, but really doesn’t offer all that much a pass-rusher.
