Redskins Re-Sign RFA LB Will Compton

The Washington Redskins re-signed restricted free agent ILB Will Compton, according to John Keim.

The original-round tender will cost the Redskins around $1.797 million for the 2017 season.

Compton, 27, signed on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska back in 2013. However, the team waived him shortly after and signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers.

The Redskins promoted him to their active roster at the end of the 2013 season.

In 2016, Compton appeared in 15 games for the Redskins and recorded 106 total tackles, one interception, five pass defenses, two fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble. Pro Football Focus graded him as the No, 74 overall linebacker out of 87 qualifying players.
